La Cantante Calva en el McDonald’s 2018

La Cantante Calva en el McDonald’s (The Bald Soprano at McDonald’s) by Catalan playwright Lluïsa Cunillé. The play took place June 27, 28, 29 and 30 at 8:00 pm. in 2018, at Access Theater, 380 Broadway, 4th Floor, New York NY 10013. The production was in Spanish. Based on the classic The Bald Soprano by Eugene Ionesco, Cunillé explores the life of a pair of secret lovers at a fast-food restaurant while caught between coffee and tea. And then she walks in: a bald soprano whose name they can't recall. As they talk in circles about art and alcoholism, they spin a web of delusion and disorientation. This contemporary adaptation fuses humor, absurdity and the mundane to battle the ever-present threat of terror, just beyond the walls of the place where we feel safe.
